takes us beyond familiar narratives of land struggles in South Africa and sheds light on a largely forgotten story: the Lesotho land question.
Through the voices of Basotho immigrant herders and parliamentary representatives, the film challenges stereotypes that criminalize herders as livestock thieves. Instead, it reveals their hidden struggles for land, dignity, and justice, connecting these realities to historical dispossession under colonial South Africa. It recalls the confiscation of land and cattle and honors the legacy of King Moshoeshoe, who resisted these injustices.
What makes this film particularly significant is its ability to link past and present, showing how historical dispossession continues to shape contemporary debates. It invites us to think critically about borders, migration, and the politics of belonging, while foregrounding the possibility of reclaiming land and restoring dignity.
