On 31st January 2024, Prof. Marcelo Rosa from Rio de Janeiro Federal Rural University, Department of Development, Agriculture and Society visited the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. We discussed opportunities in intellectual collaborations, student and academic exchanges, and community engagement. Prof Rosa’s visit was part of our commitment to catalyse collaborative South-South engagements, and part of our broader university and faculty goal to transform, decolonialise and revitalise the humanities. In the second term, 2024, Prof Rosa will offer an online lecture on Epistemologies of the Global South, and master class to our postgraduate students.
